Please beware of Puppy Mills and Backyard Breeders
Puppy Mills and Backyard Breeders have money and profit at the forefront of their breeding programs. They put very little thought or effort into understanding pedigrees, disease, structure or important health testing to insure they are breeding to provide physically and mentally healthy puppies to the public. The vast majority of dogs in rescue and shelters are products of puppy mills and backyard breeders.
Do your homework before buying a puppy. The cost of the puppy should never be the most important deciding factor. A reputable breeder that does everything they can to protect their own dogs, will have done a number of test on their breeding stock prior to ever breeding. The reputable breeder will care about each puppy no matter if it is of show quality or pet quality. The reputable breeder will want to gather enough information about their puppy buyers in order to be certain they are placing a puppy in a safe, loving and forever home. A reputable breeder will welcome your questions about their operation, breeding protocol and allow you to come visit with all their dogs and puppies before you make a decision. A reputable breeder will always direct you to another breeder, if they feel you are looking for something they won't be able to provide. A reputable breeder will always take their dog back if some unforeseen situation arises in a buyer's life. The reputable breeder offers health guarantees and stands by their puppy's good health and condition.

that each puppy is getting their place on the mother to be fed and is gaining weight. Nor does this amount include the cost
of the mother and puppies' checkups or the puppies' shots or the cost of the kennel club registration or the puppy pack that
each puppy goes to its new home with.
